Asociatia ENKIDU was established in 2011 at the initiative of a commissioning editor, an actor and a litigation lawyer. All three of them with a keen interest in culture, especially in film. So they decided to support development through culture and to develop culture by daring projects.
Given the experience of the members, the association provided counsel to various national and international film festivals, initiated a series of events screening films in unconventional places (A Midautumn Night’s Dream in Craiova and movie projections in the fortress of Fagaras) and put up a website with subjects related to Romanian cinematography (www.cinemaframe.ro)
In 2014, the association was granted with funding from the EEA Grants in the “Promotion of Diversity in Culture and Arts within European Cultural Heritage” programme. The project promotes Norwegian and Icelandic films for kids in Romania and is called Cinematour KIDS. In 2017 the project is at his 4th edition already, with funding from the National Cinematography Center.
In 2017 we run a series of projects with The Comic Opera for Children from Bucharest: Midsummer 24h Movies from Scandinavia and a series of workshops for kids based on the Ragdoll Foundation series of educational movies made for BBC and British Council.
The association is specialized in cultural events and its members are high level professionals in the movie and legal domain.
