Şahinbey Bilsem (Science and Art Center)

The institution aims learners to discover and develop their abilities. Such learners are observed from the first grade and they are guided to continue to their studies based on their abilities. The institution offers project-based teaching strategy with hands-on experience for the learners. Moreover, it provides workshops in different fields that are useful for the learners. For example, it includes workshops such as robotics software, drama, visual arts, astronomy, etc. Thus, learners have the experience of learning by doing. On the other hand, the institution promotes tours to nationwide conferences,science talks, fairs, museums,contests. In addition, the institution cooperates with universities including Gaziantep University and Hasan Kalyoncu University.

Şahinbey Bilsem includes learners who are gifted or talented. Before the academic year, learners who want enter the institution are subjected to a test which evaluates their capability. WNV, Wenchsler ,Kbit,Kaufman intelligence tests are among the chosen tests. Learners above the iq level of 130 or 140 are called for a further interview. Learners who are successful are registered to the institution. The age group of the learners ranges between 7- 17.
Şahinbey Bilsem guides learners to attend many national and international competitions in diverse fields. TÜBİTAK, Etwinning, URFODU,CARİBO, International Mathematical Modelling Contest, etc. The institution holds many places in the competitions. Also, Şahinbey Bilsem has Erasmus+ experience. Our KA2- Strategic Partnership for Adult Education project has been in progress.
