Agrupación Astronómica de Fuerteventura (AAF)

The Astronomical Association of Fuerteventura (AAF) emerged from a small group of fans, who met when they attended an astronomy initiation course that was taught in Fuerteventura by the IAC, deciding to meet there weekly, to go out and observe the night sky and chat about their common hobby.

In 1994 they attended the IV Canarian Astronomical Meeting in La Palma, appearing to the other astronomical groups of the Canary Islands, already with the name of AAF, although their official constitution as an association did not occur until the following year.

The AAF was registered in the Register of Associations under number 3031 in August 1995, with the purpose of disseminating, training and studying everything that has a direct or indirect relationship with astronomy and astrophysics, in the area of ​​the island of Fuerteventura and the Canary Islands.

His journey on the WWW began in October 1998 with the publication of the AAF website, which has been maintained until this year 2015, in which we have decided to renew it and give it a new impetus.

On October 20, 2004, the new statutes were approved, once the originals were modified, to adapt them to the legislation of associations that came into effect on those dates.

Recently, it has also been updated in the Register of Associations, now with the number 12233.
