Afyonkarahisar Anatolian Religious High School for Girls, Science and Social Science Project School

The purpose establishment of our school is to create projects by students an teachers. Our school mission is project based learning.

**GENERAL INFORMATION
Afyonkrahisar Kız Anadolu İmam Hatip Lisesi Fen ve Sosyal Bilimler Proje Okulu (AKİL Project Science and Social Science High School) was opened in 2014-2015.It is one of 44 project schools in Turkey. The most important aspect of that project school is that we have selected administrators and teachers among the successful ones in the profession. Students are accepted to the school according to their exam performance.
AKİL has got more than 600 studnets aged 14-19 and 40 teachers.AKİL has different departments : science,social science and foreign language.Furthermore, AKİL offers different kind of extra courses to studnets after school. These courses are music, art, coding, digital litearcy,project based learning.Technology are used very effectivtly in all courses.
**LOCATION
Our school is located in Afyonkarahisar which is in Eagean part of Turkey. Afyonkarahisar is the center of termal, marble and Independence War of Turkey. So İt is surrounded 5 stars luxury termal hotels and big marble fatories and historical monuments.
**FACILITIES
Our school is well-equipped and suitable for arranging activities and performances AKİL has a boarding dormitaory for 150 students, and also has modern equipment and all kinds of social technical possibilities.Modern school buildg of AKİL has 24 classrooms, laboratories, canteen area, a conference room, a library and various social areas.Every classroom has smart board.In addtion, we have indoor sport hall, big school garden,dining hall, health-infirmary room and social areas such as table-tenins room, chess room.So we can host you in our school quite well.

AKİL is experienced in working Erasmus Plus projects and cooperating European partnerships(the reference number of it is 2017-2-TR01-KA105-047516). AKİIL also involved in many successful eTwinning projects about science, technology, STEM, coding, nature, culture and digital literacy. All teachers are experienced in using educational tools of web 2.0 while teaching.
Our main activity is to make a cooperation with all kind of schools, NGOs and public authorities to support and improve personal and professional development of our teachers and students. We want to learn and share good practices through the projects and also provide students new way to learn.
To run Erasmus Plus projects our school has a team under the name of AKİL Project Club. In this project team teachers and students work together in a cooperation.
Volunteer students are the member of this club. Our students are smart and highly motivated in participating to projects. Students have experience in many European projects
