1-Sisli District Directorate of National Education (SISLI ILCE MILLI EGITIM MUDURLUGU)(SISLIMEM) was established in 1985 and it is affiliated to Ministry of National Education of Turkish Republic. It is responsible to Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education in terms of duties and services. It is a public body that is responsible for administrative affairs of formal and non-formal education including primary, secondary, vocational and technical education, special education, school counselling services and life long learning in Sisli District, Istanbul. The responsibilities of Sisli District Directorate of National Education is to plan, program, implement, monitor and control education and training services targeted at teachers and students in the educational institutions at all levels in Sisli district. The activities of the directorate are policy making, monitoring the implementation of educational policies; monitoring and evaluation of educational environments, programs, materials, student affairs and social activities; making research, planning and developing projects to meet the educational needs in Sisli District, Istanbul. The activities are in line with the national educational policy developed by the Ministry of National Education of Turkish Republic which is consistent with the European Union policy in the education and training domains.2-In Sisli District Governorate, The EU and Project Coordination Unit has been established to carry out the European Union business and services, to mobilize local potential by utilizing the overseas EU and Domestic funds, to design, implement and manage projects in the required areas.
Our governorship is responsible for the management, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of the projecting activities carried out by this unit and the institutions, organizations, local government, NGOs and related persons. To raise the quality of life of
the people in the district, develop them, and creating projects to solve their needs and problems, and providing Information, promotion, guidance, access to information resources and consulting on similar matters. It is one of the aims of introducing all the programs declared by the EU and which can be utilized by our country within the district and helping to prepare the projects within this scope and to produce projects with domestic funds and
resources. It carries out a number of studies with Development Agencies and relevant Ministries to carry out the project related to the realization and co-operation of the program.
It also carries out project works to increase social welfare in accordance with the national development plans of the province, and to support the related projects.
