Youth Worker Forum PARTICIPATION

Conference – Symposium - Forum

1-8 March 2025 | Pestalozzi Children's Foundation, Trogen, Switzerland

During one week, youth workers from Switzerland and across Europe explore participatory methods in youth work. As a leading institution in Switzerlan, we aim to further develop ourselves and are seeking the best methods for our educational work.

This forum is for you…

  • if you are a youth worker
  • if you work in non-formal education
  • if you work for an organization
  • if you are ready to live, learn, and work with other youth workers from across Europe for one week
  • if you speak fluent English
  • if you are willing to report about this forum within your organization
  • if you are willing to forward a press release to at least one newspaper
  • if you are ready to share and apply participatory methods of non-formal education.

Forum Details:

  • The forum takes place from Saturday to Saturday.
  • Participation in preparatory meetings on January 16 from 5:00 to 6:00 PM, January 24 from 5:00 to 6:00 PM, and January 28 from 5:00 to 6:00 PM is required.
  • All costs for meals in the Children’s Village, accommodation in the Children’s Village, and course fees will be covered by the organizer.
  • Travel costs will be reimbursed up to a maximum of CHF 420.
  • No participation fees will be charged.

What can I expect at the forum?

  • 7 full days of discussions, exciting encounters, course insights, and course offerings
  • Self-directed learning and reflection
  • Collaboration with the educational team of the Children’s Village
  • Insight into an international youth forum with participants from 8 different nations
  • Production of a radio broadcast on powerup.ch
  • Time at the unique Pestalozzi Children’s Village for networking
  • An introduction to Swiss culture

Application Deadline: January 3, 2025. 

Application Process: To ensure high quality, the number of participants is limited to 20. An application process is used for the training, and selection is based on the applicant's level of interest and motivation, diversity and willingness to implement and document a method from this week in their own area of impact.
