Training Course
22 July - 1 August 2019 | Sępólno Krajeńskie, Poland
The main idea of this training course is to gather 27 youth workers from Poland, Spain, Germany, Turkey, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Malta, and Romania that are ready to develop the competences (knowledge, attitudes, and skills) of youth worker practitioners (including leaders of informal groups, teachers, trainers, coaches, social workers, etc.) to create their own human rights projects based on their personal interests, talents, and hobbies. Participants will gain awareness and education about relevant human rights issues in Europe and will be equipped with the tools and skills necessary to create their own human rights projects to affect change on the local level, in their communities.
The project consists of 3 phases:
1. TRAINING COURSE (JULY 22 - AUGUST 1, 2019, Sępólno Krajeńskie, Poland). By the end of Phase 1 of the project, 27 youth workers will increase their knowledge on relevant human rights topics in Europe and the life cycle of a project. They will gain a pragmatic understanding of what actions they can take to address and prevent these issues in their local contexts, and develop personal visions for how to implement their own community development project addressing human rights.
2. IMPLEMENTATION OF WORKED OUT TOOLS (August - November 2019, countries of participants). By Phase 2 of the project, 27 youth workers will have developed their project management skills and put into practice their project visions for change developed during Phase 1. They will gain practical and tangible experience of tackling human rights issues in their local communities.
3. EVALUATION MEETING (November 15-18, 2019, Sępólno Krajeńskie, Poland). By the end of Phase 3 of the project, 27 youth workers will have evaluated and reflected on their work in their local communities. They will be more inclined to see themselves as human rights activists, capable of progress on the local level. In turn, they will also develop next steps of how to affect more change on the local level following the project.
To be selected participants must be able and willing to take part in ALL 3 phases of the project!
