WELLCORE. Creative tools for WELL-being, COnnection and REsilience

Training Course

25-30 May 2022 | Flecken Zechlin, Germany

Well-Being and resilience are two important aspects while working with people. During this 5 day training course, youth workers will explore different movement- and connection based methods and styles from 4 experienced trainers and from each other.

The main aim of this training course is to explore creative tools and resources to facilitate connection, resilience and wellbeing in youth work. Participants will experience different tools themselves, reflect and exchange about their experience and transfer them to their own work context and their daily life. Especially in times of crisis it is important to not only focus on physical but also mental health of people. This can be seen as an act of solidarity to yourself and others and we want to explore and discuss how these topics affect community life.

As non formal trainers and youth workers, the trainer team of this course, Yolanda, Ohiane, Mohammed and Dina all come together with different backgrounds and experiences but with a common goal and vision: to use creative and movement-based tools as a means to help you to connect with your inner child, to connect with others around you and implement playfulness and transfer these elements in your work.

Objectives:

  • Developing competences for emotional management, resilience, connection and well-being in youth work and connecting these to the topic of solidarity and community.
  • Promoting a learning platform in which participants can share ideas, reflections and needs.
  • Facilitating the creation of mutual support networks among the participants, organisations and associated promoters, developing strategies for future projects in wellbeing, connection and resilience.

Facilitators and Methodologies:
We will be using techniques related to different styles such as movement/somatics, creativity and art therapy, circus, nature connection, acroyoga and sports giving an important space for self experience and reflection all throughout the training.

It is the goal as well to start and finish with an online-meeting, so we will include exploring possibilities to bring wellbeing techniques to online/digital youth work as well, even though this won’t be our main focus.

The online meeting will take place within 2 weeks prior to the training and will be communicated as soon as possible. We advise you to participate, but we will not exclude you from the training if you can’t.

This training course is a Training Practise Project (TPP) of trainers currently attending the Training of Trainers, edition 2021/22.
