Training for Facilitators on Social Innovation: Let's bring Non-Formal Education to High Schools!

Bring non-formal education in high schools and build partnerships with formal institutions: you will receive mentoring, develop local actions, join online results-sharing meetings and contribute to the Strategic Plan on Social Innovation in High Schools.

The Training for Facilitators offers a unique opportunity to empower Youth Workers with the competences to introduce dynamic, non-formal education methods in high schools. This training will support and lead you to develop fruitful cooperations with formal education institutions through innovative approaches to engage students, fostering creativity, critical thinking and social impact. As a participant you will receive personalized mentoring after the training to support you journey in applying what you learnt during the sessions and begin a professional cooperation with high schools, planning and implementing follow-up local actions in your country and then meeting for an results sharing meeting during which we will finalize the Strategic Plan on Social Innovation in High Schools.

This training is part of a wider project, You SI Net Reload, which aims at promoting cross-border cooperation in Youth Work and Social Innovation by recognizing the value of intercultural dialogue, involving six Mediterranean countries: Egypt, Italy, Jordan, Morocco, Spain and Tunisia. The training is structured to reach the following objectives:

  • Understand the concept of social innovation and its impact on education.
  • Learn non-formal educational methodologies that can be applied within schools.
  • Develop strategies for collaborating with formal education teachers to plan and implement non-formal activities focused on social innovation.
  • Explore techniques to engage and motivate teenagers in educational activities.
  • Gain practical knowledge on how to establish a Memorandum of Understanding with public institutions, particularly schools.

Training sessions will be held online each Wednesday at 17:00 - 20:00 CET from November 20th to December 18th 2024 for a total of 5 sessions, 3 hours each.

Local Training Activities in High Schools by Participants will be planned according to participants’ availability in January 2025 – June 2025.

Final Meetings & Results Sharing online sessions will be planned according to participants’ availability in June 2025 – September 2025.

Participant Profile

This training is open to youth workers, volunteers, activists, teachers who are passionate about Social Innovation and are eager to bring fresh, impactful ideas into high schools.

Ideal candidates will:

  • Live in one of the following countries: Egypt, Italy, Jordan, Morocco, Spain or Tunisia.
  • Possess a proficient level of English to actively engage in discussions, workshops, and collaborative activities throughout the training.
  • Be confident in their IT skills, as they will be expected to navigate and engage with digital platforms for the training sessions.
  • Have prior experience or a strong interest in social innovation and youth empowerment, with a strong commitment to fostering change through education.
  • Be motivated to collaborate with formal education institutions and high schools, leveraging non-formal education methodologies to create meaningful and lasting partnerships.
  • Be committed to deliver the local follow-up actions in high schools and take part in the online Results Sharing sessions to finalize the Strategic Plan on Social Innovation in High Schools.

This training is ideal for those who are passionate about youth education and eager to build strong, innovative bridges between the formal and non-formal education sectors.
