Train-the-Trainer Workshop on Participative Methods

Seminar

28 November 2024 | European Academy Berlin, Germany

In this one-day workshop, trainers from diverse European countries get together to deep dive into participative methods and exchange previous experiences. One core topic will be dealing with misinformation and conspiracy theories within workshop sessions.

Especially in times where our democracies might be challenged it is important for trainers and facilitators to have the right tools at hand to empower participants and motivate them to become active part of our societies. At the same time, new tools and approaches are needed to counter misinformation and conspiracy theories. In an intensive one-day training, EAB – in cooperation with two experts from the Berlin Institute for Participation (bipar) – wants to tackle these aspects and empower trainers and facilitators from all over Europe to grow their skillsets and have the right tools at hand for engaging seminars and session.

Within the framework of the project „European Gamechangers“ we invite trainers and facilitators from different fields and with diverse levels of experience to Berlin to learn and grow together. The following summarises the goals and gives an overview of the training content:

Objectives

  • Learn about engaging participative methods through interactive and engaging sessions
  • Get together with like-minded trainers from diverse fields and different parts of Europe
  • Exchange best-practice and strenghten your existing skillset
  • Deepen your knowledge with regards to democracy education and countering fake news and conspiracy theories within your trainings and facilitations

Overview of the Training

  • Introduction to participatory methods
  • Short theoretical insights into four participatory methods
  • Practical phases to try out and evaluate the new methods and approaches
  • Discussion and exchange on methods, modes of implementation and potential challenges
