The Connective & Inclusive Power of Hip Hop

Seminar

3-7 June 2024 | Ghent, Belgium - FL

The story and power of hip hop

In its 50+ years of existence Hip Hop culture has grown into a global movement that speaks to the youth. It has the purpose to stimulate creativity, address societal pains, inspire peace, love, unity and fun.

It is the voice of young generations and it's diverse by nature. Young people feel heard through the beats, lyrics and flows and they can express and explore themselves by sharing their own creative story. It became an important outlet for young talent, confidence and community building. More than other genres, Hip Hop tends to represent the voice of the often-unheard communities.

During this seminar we will explore the learning opportunities Hip Hop music and Hip Hop culture has got to offer. This while honoring the purpose and roots of Hip Hop and keeping the young people's voices in the center. Let’s have a look at Hip hop culture from a pedagogical approach!
