The C Revolution Circus Pedagogy

Training Course

11-20 July 2025 | Brežice, Slovenia

The aim of this training course is to explore how to use circus pedagogy as a method of youth work for social inclusion.

During the learning, teaching, and training activity, we will discover how to use circus pedagogy as a method of youth work for social inclusion. We use circus activities as a form of pedagogy in teaching and in non-formal education.

Our main idea is that circus activity is appealing and fun for everybody, making it ideal as a tool for educational work with youngsters.

The training activity will also comprise an introduction to Clown technique where participants will get familiar with this deep and rewarding theatrical technique that aims to equip with a range of competencies that go from assessing vulnerability to connecting to the audiences. The preparation for these sessions will be assured by some Physical theatre and Improvisation exercises. The main goal of our project is to teach youth workers basics of various circus skills such as partner and group acrobatics, juggling, diabolo… and show them how to prepare and implement a circus workshop, which they can use as a tool in their work with youngsters. On the end of our training course, all the participants will be equipped with knowledge how to prepare and implement a basic circus pedagogy workshop on their own. During the project, participants (with the help of trainers) will prepare a short circus show that they will perform for the local community.

Profile of participants:
The project is targeting youth workers, trainers, coordinators and facilitators from all fields of non-formal education who are motivated to learn how to use theatre of the oppressed in their daily youth work.

We are looking for youth workers/youth leaders who are over the age of 18 with a good level of English, who will be willing and committed to participate actively in ALL sessions:

  • All participants should speak and understand English.
  • Participants should be willing to share their knowledge with their colleagues once they return home and do the follow up activities and dissemination.
  • Participants should already be involved in youth work or be motivated to get involved with it.
