Sustainable Development and Youth Work

Training Course

10-12 June 2024 | Dublin, Ireland

This Sustainable Development and Youth Work two day training is designed for Youth Workers to support their practices with young people. Led by ECO-UNESCO experts in the field of Sustainability.

This two-day training event hosted by ECO-UNESCO in partnership with the Irish National Agency Léargas will provide a space for youth practitioners to explore the necessary tools, skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to incorporate environmental issues and sustainable development into their youth work practice. Using a range of methodologies, this event will build the participant’s capacity, confidence, knowledge and ability to address these topics with young people in their organisations.

Objectives:

  • Develop skills in Youth Workers on how to integrate sustainability into youth work practice
  • Support Youth Workers understanding of concepts of Sustainability, Education for Sustainable Development and Intersectional Environmental Justice
  • Support Youth Workers to develop practical ways to engage with young people on concepts of sustainability
  • Strengthen and share best practices in relation to incorporating sustainability in the youth work sector
  • Connect with other Youth Workers from different countries
  • Provide ‘space’ for exchanging relevant topics and sharing good practices
  • Build a stronger network and synergies for potential future Erasmus + and European Solidarity Corps projects

Ethos:

As ECO-UNESCO is an environmental organisation, wherever possible, we look to minimise our environmental footprint in all our services and offerings. With this in mind, we endeavor to work with subcontractors who share this way of working. For example, lunch provided will be by AsOne, who provide organic, locally produced, delicious food. https://asone.ie/our-story/
