The main objective of the training course is to test a curriculum developed for the personal, social and emotional development of teenagers using non-formal methodologies.
The main objective of the training course is to test a curriculum and boardgame developed within a two-year KA2 project. The curriculum consists of non-formal activities designed for the personal, social and emotional development of teenagers and which can be used by youth workers in their daily work.
The objectives of this training course are:
- To develop youth workers' competencies for supporting teenagers in their personal, social and emotional growth, using non-formal methodologies and boardgames;
- To develop youth workers' facilitation skills and knowledge of non-formal education methods;
- To support the youth workers in gaining a broader perspective on mental health in Europe;
- To establish new connections between the organisations and youth workers and between the youth workers themselves;
- To have contact with and gain understanding about the reality of schools in Romania;
- To enhance intercultural learning in the field of youth work;
- To test the cross-culture flexibility of the training curriculum;
- To create instructional clips for each activity included in the curriculum;
This TC is part of a two-year KA2 partnership between Iceland, Romania, Portugal, and Spain. The project, called Strong Young Minds, aims:
1. To increase the capacity of partner organisations to address the mental health educational needs of young people in their communities.
2. To develop a training curriculum and a board game on mental health related competencies for young people aged 14-18 with different social-economic backgrounds.
3. To facilitate the use of the mental health education tools by youth workers around Europe.
Profile of the participants:
This training course is dedicated to youth workers, teachers and all that work directly with teenagers and are interested in working for the social and emotional development of young people.
Learning outcomes:
Participating in the international training, the youth workers will improve or develop:
- Their understanding about mental health from a European perspective;
- How to work in development of social and emotional competences for youngsters using non formal methodologies and board games;
- Cultural awareness;
- Their understanding of the European dimension of education;
- How to use Erasmus+ as a tool in the community;
- How to work on developing and improving tools for education in this case for prevention of mental health
- Their understanding about non formal education;
- Working in an international team;
- A proactive attitude towards solving problems in the community.
Benefits
Participants who will join this training course will be able to take part in the other stages of this long term strategic partnership Strong Young Minds and be part of the development of the intellectual outputs, which are: training curriculum, handbook, instructional videos and the board game. Moreover they will be able to take part in dissemination events such as conferences, presentations and different activities that will be held in each country by partners of the project.

Minte Forte is a local NGO whose mission is to promote mental health and well-being in the general community, by educating the public, providing opportunities for personal development and psychological support in the form of counselling and therapy. Its activity is mostly based on non-formal education principles and it constantly seeks to develop innovative methods to achieve its goals.

Costs
The travel costs will be reimbursed according to E+ rules. It will happen upon collecting all tickets and invoices, calculating all costs, and reimbursed the total amount of costs from home to the venue of the training.

Iceland: € 420 per participant
Portugal € 300 per participant
Spain €250 per participant
Romania €50 per participant
The accommodation and food will be covered by E+ grant.
There's no participation fee asked by the hosting organisation.
