Resilience&Growth in Youth Work offers 2 training courses in Portugal to combat burnout in youth workers,focusing on emotional resilience,stress management,conflict resolution&professional growth.Participants will attend both sessions in Jan-Feb& Apr2025

Resilience & Growth in Youth Work is a two-part training program aimed at youth workers who are at risk of burnout. Through mindfulness, body-mind methods and conflict management strategies, participants will develop the tools needed to grow both emotionally and professionally. This is your chance to recharge, connect, and enhance your skills in a supportive, international environment!

Dates:

  • Training 1: January 28 - February 5, 2025 (including travel)  
  • Training 2: April 23 - April 30, 2025 (including travel)   

Objectives:

  • Combat burnout and stress among youth workers  
  • Develop self-awareness  and ability to deal with stress  
  • Equip youth workers with conflict resolution, assertive communication, and professional development skills  
  • Foster an international community of youth workers dedicated to personal and professional growth

During the training courses youth workers will gain the following:

  • Understanding of their personal stress levels and tools to recognize burnout  
  • Techniques for stress management (mindfulness, embodiment approach)
  • Developing skills in assertive communication and conflict resolution  
  • A supportive international network of youth workers  
  • Methods to handle perfectionism, self-criticism, and professional challenges  
  • Knowledge on how to set healthy boundaries in youth work

Participant Profile: 

  • Over 18 years old  
  • A resident of one of the participating countries: Cyprus, Poland, Portugal, Italy, Spain, Germany, Netherlands, France  
  • Open to youth workers, trainers, youth leaders, volunteering mentors, and youth coaches  
  • Able to participate in both training courses and committed to attending all sessions  
  • Interested in learning about emotional resilience and professional growth in youth work
  • At risk of burnout  
  • Comfortable in a multicultural setting  
  • Willing to engage in dissemination activities in between the 2 trainings (FEB-APR 2025) and after the 2nd one (MAY-JUN 2025) 
  • Willing to remain in communication with organizers and peers  
  • Basic knowledge of English

Please note that this is not a form of therapy; it is personal development training. Therefore, it’s important to ensure that you are in a stable psychological state, so you're able to fully benefit from the experience.

BLOOM is dedicated to empowering young people with and without special needs through various mobility projects. With significant experience in Erasmus+ KA1 and KA2 programs and the European Solidarity Corps, BLOOM has coordinated and hosted numerous youth exchanges, EVS/ESC volunteers, seminars, and study visits. The organization works with marginalized communities, focusing on inclusion, diversity, and social cohesion, particularly for LGBTIQ+ and other minority groups. BLOOM's mission is to provide safe, inclusive learning environments and promote social change through education and mobility opportunities for youth.

Accommodation and food

Accommodation and meals are fully covered by Erasmus+ for both training dates (28/01-05/02/25 & 23-30/04/25). 

Participants will be hosted in shared rooms (2 or 3 per room, based on gender).

Travel reimbursement

Erasmus+ will reimburse travel costs for participants, provided that all original invoices, boarding passes, and tickets are submitted.  

Travel Budget for each training: 

  • Portugal: €28 (car); €56 (Green Travel: train/bus)  
  • Spain, Italy, Netherlands, France: €309  
  • Poland, Germany: €395  
  • Cyprus: €580
