Promoting eARTh

Training Course

9-15 June 2024 | Puerto de la Cruz, Spain

Promoting eARTh aims at raising awareness and understanding to topic related to environmental education and climate change, incorporating both traditional and digital arts.

Objectives

  • Conduct a five-day non-formal education training course to heighten the awareness and understanding of 22 participants in environmental education and climate change, incorporating both traditional and digital arts.
  • Provide foundational knowledge on key environmental challenges to the 22 participants.
  • Equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of various art forms, encompassing both traditional and digital arts, to facilitate effective communication of environmental messages.
  • Empower participants with essential skills to leverage digital art and social media effectively, enabling them and local artists to amplify environmental messages, engage a broader audience, and inspire local action.
  • Equip participants with necessary knowledge to conduct workshops on art as a dual-purpose tool—raising awareness about environmental issues and exploring recycling as a solution to these.
  • Provide the participants the knowledge of using social media campaigns as a primary strategy to promote activities and messages related to environmental issues and arts.

Target group

  • The participants will be 18+ years old, without age limit
  • Youthworkers, volunteers that work with young people
  • Art and environment enthusiasts
  • People motivated to participate for the entire duration of the youth exchange
  • Medium level of English
  • Open minded and inclusive

Dissemination:

  • Designing and implementing one workshop by each partner organization, coupled with a promotional campaign on social media. The workshops will focus on art as a dual-purpose tool—raising awareness about environmental issues and exploring art as a recycling solution. The social media campaigns should consist of a minimum of three thoughtfully crafted posts on at least two social media platforms. The workshops aim to disseminate information on environmental issues, showcasing art as a powerful tool for raising awareness and highlighting its potential as a recycling solution.
  • Also, as part of the dissemination process the organizations will have to share on their social media and online communication channels the activities in which the participants are taking part during the training course and also the dissemination activity (images, videos, description of the activities, name of the project).
