Preparing for EVS/CSP Hosting
The aim is to prepare interested EFIL member organisations for hosting on EVS and/or CSP by training staff and (if enough spots are available) volunteers to support the setting up of an EVS/CSP hosting programme.
The objectives of this seminar are:
- to create a better understanding of EVS/CSP at present and in the future,
- to create a better understanding of different roles and needs of various actors within EVS and CSP programmes,
- to enable participants to approach, prepare, support and counsel and evaluate EVS/CSP hosting projects,
- to support participants in identifying ways of facilitating the intercultural Learning process of both volunteers and hosting projects,
- to enhance participants’ skills to guide mediation process between AFS volunteers, EVS/CSP volunteers and hosting projects,
- to enable participants to deal with administrative issues around EVS/CSP hosting,
- to enable participants to facilitate the implementation of EVS/CSP hosting at a national level,
- to increase participants’ awareness about possible risks and problems in EVS/CSP hosting
- to encourage co-operation between partners of the AFS network within EVS and CSP programmes and
- to enable participants to multiply and implement the knowledge gained
Target group
The main target group for this seminar are AFS staff members. The ideal participants should:
- come from an organisation interested in or already active in EVS/CSP hosting,
- have little or no experience in hosting on CSP/EVS,
- have the ability to work in English and
- be in charge of EVS/CSP hosting in their organisation in future.
Volunteers applying for this seminar should (in addition):
- be interested to work with EVS/CSP hosting in the future,
- have experience of any kind in EVS and/or CSP and
- be willing to multiply the experiences from this seminar afterwards.
EFIL member and non-member organisations are welcome to send participants to this seminar. There is no age restriction in place.

Costs
The participation fee is 200 € per participant (or 350 € for participants coming from a non-EU-country – excl. travel reimbursement). Travel expenses are reimbursed 70%.
