Plural Perspectives: Promoting diversity awareness

Training Course

4-12 March 2024 | Bucharest (Hotel Yesterday) , Romania

We aim to tackle the socio-cultural obstacles to achieving equal rights and non-discriminatory values, promoting EU values among young people, especially among those at risk of discrimination and social exclusion.

Young people suffering from discrimination are facing uncertainties about the future, because of political populism with which they are frequently assaulted, discriminated against, social exclusion, and fake news.

Therefore, we aim to tackle the socio-cultural obstacles to achieving equal rights and non-discriminatory values, promoting EU values among young people, especially among those at risk of discrimination and social exclusion, and improve the level of success of spreading the message "tolerance towards diversity" in local communities by increasing the capacity of all stakeholders from EU to organize successful and efficient local awareness campaigns aiming to promote tolerance and combat discrimination.

Objectives

  •  Developing the competences of 27 youth workers to organize successful and efficient awareness campaigns aiming to promote tolerance through developing media literacy and critical thinking;
  • Enhancing the capacity of 9 NGOs to become active against hate speech and discrimination in their local communities and online by following the No Hate Speech Youth Campaign guidelines and methods;
  • Developing an efficient network of 9 NGOs by creating a sharing space meant to exchange good practices, efficient tools and improve their services and internationalitation.

Profile of Participants
27 youth workers aged 18+ from the partner NGOs' staff pool (long-term volunteers, social workers, educators, social pedagogues, community development facilitators, counselors, trainers, facilitators, and other related staff implementing non-formal activities), who are actively involved in promoting the 'Tolerance for Diversity' values.
