Northern European Youth Forum (NEYF) 2004
Second international youth conference on the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) adopted at the Millinnium Summit in 2000.
At last year's conference the participants elaborated and eventually adopted an action plan on how to implement the MDGs in Northern Europe. The action plan included recommendations on how the MDGs can be reached from a youth perspective. The participants developed many wonderful resolutions on how to solve various problems in Northern Europe and elsewhere.
This year we are taking another step further. Based on the recommendations from last year, this year's forum will instead welcome applicants to submit project ideas, that you would like to carry out on diffent themes based on the MDGs. This is the chance for you to be creative and to think out new projects. The objective is, that projects developed by innovative and motivated young people will emerge, that do not only talk, but also act.
During the forum in Norway, the participants will work in ten different groups and together develop a specific and concrete project to be put into action after the conference. The projects will be presented, shared and improved in cross-groups. They will also be developed with assistance from the United Nations and World Bank. At the same time you will be equipped through different work-shops with necessary tools to make them into a reality (project management, fundraising, etc.).
