Training Course

3-12 October 2018 | Paphos, Cyprus

This TC will help youth workers and teachers to identify and stop discrimination among young people. We will learn and practice various Non-formal education that can help young people speak up against discrimination.
The project „ Non-Formal Education will Stop Discrimination” is a training course that will take place in Paphos, Cyprus, from 3-12 October 2018. The project will gather 25 youth workers from 5 countries. The purpose of the project is to help youth workers and teachers to identify and stop discrimination among young people. We will focus on learning and practicing non-formal education that can help young people speak up against discrimination. Our main target group: - Youth workers that work with young people on a daily basis - Teachers that are interested to bring non-formal education in their schools - Youth leaders that are able to implement non-formal education methods with young people - People who actively work/volunteer in an NGO - People that work in disadvantaged areas or with young people that are facing disadvantages - Newcomers in youth work Our objectives: 1. Improve participant’s knowledge regarding different types of discrimination, prejudices and stereotypes. 2. Develop their skills in implementing non-formal education methods that can raise awareness about discrimination and empower young people in stopping discrimination. 3. Develop an active attitude regarding their involvement in projects that want to combat discrimination, while encouraging young people to fallow their positive example. By participating to this project you will develop and discover: • new methods against discrimination • a deeper understanding of discrimination • a better way to communicate with the young people • more confidence in your future plans about youth work • motivation to be the change you want to see • examples of good practices • personal and professional development We structured the schedule in order to learn new theories and to have a lot of practice in implementing methods. You will discover new non-formal education methods that can help you prevent and stop discrimination. In order to practice, we will do workshops in high schools and orphanages.

Participation fee

There is no participation fee.

Accommodation and food

This project is financed by Erasmus+ Programme in the field of youth. Being selected for this course, all costs (accommodation, travel, food, etc.) relevant to participation in the course will be covered.

Travel reimbursement

The travel costs will be reimbursed up to this limits: 275 euros/participant from: Italy, Poland, Romania 360 euros/participant from: Spain 50 euros/participant from: Cyprus
