Life Story to True Glory

Training Course

26 November - 3 December 2016 | Newbold House, Forres, United Kingdom

Life Story to True Glory is an innovative new training course, using storytelling and nature-based tools to engage young people in focusing on their existing skills and life experience and applying this creatively to their career development.
Life Story to True Glory is an innovative 8 day training course for youth workers, youth employment officers and all those active in the youth field, designed as a refreshing new way to engage young people in focusing on their existing skills and life experience and applying this creatively to their career development. Young people are constantly gaining skills and knowledge in their lives but they are rarely given the chance to slow down and to consider the wealth of wisdom they are already carrying in their back packs. With this TC we would like to offer up storytelling and outdoors activity as methods for reaching the inner knowledge and organise it in a beneficial way. We will train the participants in the methodology and thus hope to ensure the spreading among the young people they work with. People can love talking about themselves but rarely do they think about how their life story can express the knowledge they posses and how with a few more steps they could enhance their CVs with the knowledge they have and even profile themselves professionally. We aim to let the participants try out different ways to tell their life stories and thus access different realms of knowledge within themselves. We hope to create a supportive and emancipative process for the participants where the outcomes could be expressed in better personal life goal focus and a better CV. In short we will help to translate the participants life stories into their resumés and goals. The overall aim of the training course is to develop the capacity and competences of
youth workers to support young people to utilise their inner knowledge
and resources from a holistic approach, particularly in regards to empowering them to increase their employability.
