Life Competence as a Navigator for Change: A Youth Worker’s Toolkit

Training Course

13-18 May 2024 | Litochoro, Greece

The aim of this training course is to empower youth workers with the skills to navigate life's transitions and foster resilient growth, to dive into innovative strategies and build a global network of change-makers in this dynamic learning experience.

This training course is part of SALTO’s Training of Trainers, based on the conceptual framework LifeComp.

Objectives

  • Cultivate key personal, social, and self-directed learning skills for holistic development.
  • Promote a culture of lifelong learning, reflective practice, and professional growth tailored to dynamic youth and societal needs.
  • Deepen understanding of LifeComp competences through theory and practice, enabling practical application in varied youth contexts.
  • Foster a supportive community of youth workers and organizations/institutions where they work.
  • Equip participants with mindfulness strategies for self-regulation.
  • Co-create a toolkit and strategies to manage transitions effectively.

Methodology

  • experiential learning - Engaging in hands-on activities to deeply understand the principles of non-formal education, emphasizing active participation and reflection.
  • self - directed learning - Facilitating a supportive environment for learners to set their own objectives, explore topics at their pace, and share insights, enhancing personal growth and collaborative learning.

Participants’ Profile

Participants should be:

  • Involved in the youth work field.
  • Committed to apply the skills learned in this course in their work back in their communities.
  • Creating learning opportunities for young people, especially for young people with fewer opportunities.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Able to communicate in English

Program

Prior the residential activity, participants must attend an online kick-off meeting, which will take place on 26.04.2024 15:00 – 17:00 CET via ZOOM.

The activity will take place between 13-18 May 2024 in Litochoro, Greece.

Participants are expected to arrive on 13th and depart on 18th of May.

Participants will be accommodated in double rooms.

Participation fee

This project is financed by the participating National Agencies (NAs) of the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps Programme. The participation fee varies from country to country. Accommodation and food

The hosting NA of this offer will organise the accommodation and cover the costs for accommodation and food.

Travel reimbursement

Please contact your NA or SALTO in order to know whether they would support your travel costs. If yes, after being selected, get in touch with your NA or SALTO again to learn more about the overall procedure to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses.
