THEME: “WORLDBUILDING”

This year we will focus on different methods and techniques of creating fictional worlds. What ingredients shall we add to the recipe for a place where players become heroes? How to employ words, maps, symbols, costumes, mechanics, light and sound to make a world complete? How to lead the player through the complex network of worlds and storylines without getting lost on the way? What perils await us on the intersection of larp design and world building? Are these worlds really fictional?

After all, the magic of LARP lies in the credibility of imagined worlds in which the transformative experience takes place. This year, you are welcome to join the Course and become Worldbuidlers yourself.

CONNECTION TO YOUTHWORK
You will learn how to organize and facilitate LARP (Live Action Role Playing) games for young people during youth exhanges, summer camps, extracurricular activities, as well as during school or academic classes. LARP games are innovative tools which activate emotions, engage bahavioral learning and aim to make a positive change in the attitudes of the players, while they are immersed in stories and interactions of their characters in a safe, fictional world of the game.
