Interfaith Dialogue
Training Course

Training course for youth workers/ youth leaders working directly with young people who wish to discuss how to engage young people in interfaith dialogue (especially through YiA projects).
Open for youth workers/ youth leaders who wish to exchange and learn on how to engage young people in interfaith dialogue (especially through YiA projects) and how to work with young people with different cultural backgrounds.
Objectives:
1) to reflect and discuss on the need for interfaith dialogue/ cross communities work in youth work and its challenges
2) to exchange best practices through project examples on how to engage young people in interfaith dialogue (in the form of discussion, exchange and not debate on opinion)
3) to consider the challenging role of youth workers with diverse groups of young people in a changing world
4) to equip participants to implement future YiA projects dealing with interfaith dialogue or different backgrounds youngsters taking into account the current situation across Europe.
Format:
4 full days of programme
Day 1: Intro, team building, looking at concepts
Day 2: challenges for youth work
Day 3: good practices, participants' projects & project visit
Day 4: YiA possibilities, partnerships, future projects, resources, evaluation
Please note, this course is aimed at exploring the need for interfaith dialogue, and exchanging best practices of how to engage young people in interfaith dialogue activities. Therefore, this course will not provide participants with the opportunity to fully debate the differences between religions and religious practices, faiths, secularism, atheism, etc.

Costs
This project is financed by the Youth in Action Programme. Being selected for this course, all costs (accommodation, travel, visa, etc.) relevant to participation in the course will be covered by the NAs or SALTO involved in this project - except a participation fee which varies from call to call and country to country. Please contact your NA to learn more about the financial details, and how to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses. If you come from a country other than Programme Countries and other from EECA, please contact the responsible NA for further information about the financial details.
