IVO "SVIT-Ukraine" (Youth NGO)
Interregional voluntary organization "SVIT-Ukraine" was established in autumn 2000 as working group on volunteering, and officially registered in November 2005 as local non profit organization, which is created for promotion, support and development of volunteering in Ukraine. The main principles of "SVIT-Ukraine" are: self-governance, openness, legality, transparency, democracy, tolerance, activism and creative initiative of its members, cooperation with state bodies, local authorities and public organizations in Ukraine and abroad. Organisation is active on the territory of Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Lugansk, Kharkov and Donetsk regions of Ukraine and has partners all over the country. Our main activity is organization of international volunteer projects on environment and sustainable lifestyle, social, cultural topics, history and remembrance, as well as work with disadvantaged children. SVIT-Ukraine has organized over 70 international volunteer projects since its founding, and hosts about 200 volunteers in its projects every year. About 200-250 young Ukrainians take part to international volunteer projects abroad organized by our partners. We also organize seminars, workshops and trainings to inform young people about volunteering and volunteer projects, empower young activists with leadership, project management, fundraising skills and other skills needed for effective work and realization of volunteer activities, involve new partners at local level and promote volunteering as a tool to solve local problems with efforts of community members. SVIT organizes local volunteer actions and activities to promote volunteering, sustainable lifestyle and to assist socially vulnerable people. Our hosting projects for long-term volunteers (EVS) include activities on human rights education, volunteering, art and culture, sustainable lifestyle and social topics.
