InclusiSkill: Mastering Facilitation for Inclusive Education

Training Course

2-10 October 2024 | Zlatá Idka, Slovak Republic

The project aims to increase the level of quality of inclusive educational activities through developing competence set for being a trainer/facilitator.

The project aims to increase the level of quality of inclusive educational activities through developing competence set for being a trainer/facilitator. Participants become confident trainers and facilitators who are involved in running and organising inclusive non-formal learning activities.

They will be equipped with the necessary tools to lead non-formal learning sessions, encourage reflection, and support young people during an educational activity and take an inclusive approach while doing it. The project also aims to share best practices and strategies for handling difficult situations, working with specific target groups, and adopting an inclusive approach as a trainer/facilitator, create a compilation of at least 6 session outlines that individuals and organisations can use in their youth work and enhance the capacity of participating organisations.

The main activity of the project will be a 7 day long training course for 28 youth workers and a team of 3 trainers/facilitators.

The participants will be trained in use of inclusive approaches in non-formal education and competences of a trainer according to SALTO ETS model. The main activity will be preceded by a virtual meeting to map the needs of the participants group and support them to get to know each other. After the training, the participants are expected to run a total of at least 18 activities for their clients (mostly youth, including youth with fewer opportunities). This will be followed by another online meeting to map the impact of the project.

The project will mainly benefit the youth workers in designing programmes, facilitating them, displaying intercultural sensitivity towards their target groups, communicate meaningfully and being able to assess and evaluate the learning process.

Furthermore, we aim to enhance the capacity of our organizations and their partners to work effectively with youth, including minors, youth at risk, and diverse groups. As one of the results, we aim to create a compilation of at least 6 session outlines and publish them in a manual that individuals and organizations can use in their educational work with youth and wider public on inclusion and advocacy issues.
