Human Rights in Action!

IMPORTANT: The training course will be implemented in line with updated health and safety regulations.  

Human Rights are threatened in a dangerous political context in Europe and the world, with demonstrations of intolerance and violence/hatred spread in a climate of fear.
Therefore, education is the most powerful tool for transformation. It is necessary to create educational programs that aim to inform, build capacities and motivate educators in our organizations, in a process that ensures a structured dissemination and with pedagogical, multiplying and transforming effects.

Human Rights Education (HRE) is a participatory practice with the aim of mobilizing people and communities and empower them with knowledge, attitudes, values, and aptitudes that are needed to enjoy and put in practice those rights and to respect and defend others’ rights. HRE aims to build a world where everyone knows their rights and know-how to fight for them.

TRAINING GOAL

This training is built upon a learning process that will lead the participants to act, either individually or collectively in their communities and globally. Beyond learning about Human Rights, the participants will also develop skills for action and competences for facilitation and training. It will bring participants from Portugal, Greece, United Kingdom, Sweden, Hungary, Netherlands, Spain, Czech Republic, and Poland to share about their experiences and to build together a network of educators and trainers within their local contexts.

PARTICIPANTS PROFILE

This training is aimed for people involved or with interest in being involved in Human Rights Education in Europe, specifically in Portugal, Greece, United Kingdom, Sweden, Hungary, Netherlands, Spain, Czech Republic and Poland. We aim to create a diverse group, with different profiles and experiences, as with different perspectives learning process will be richer and more productive. We are looking for participants with the following profiles:
- Teachers
- Youth workers
- Educators
- Trainers
- Students
- Others who work with young people and are interested in Human Rights
