Gender equality as a space of growth

Training Course

6-12 May 2024 | Puerto de la Cruz, Spain

"Gender equality as a space of growth" is a Erasmus+ training course addressed to 22 youth workers and youth leaders from at least 10 organizations in Europe interested to include in their practices and procedures gender related dimensions.

Gender equality as a space of growth

During this training course we aim to focus mainly  on the following aspects related to the EU Youth Goal #2 Equality for all genders :

1. Achieve universal awareness of gender-based inequality and discrimination, particularly in the media.

2. Eliminate stereotypical gender roles and embrace diverse gender identities in education systems, family life, the workplace, and other areas of life.

3. Ensure equal access to formal and non-formal education, and that the design of education systems follows gender-sensitive approaches.

Objectives of the event:

- to capacitate at least 10 organizations in Europe to include in their practices and procedures gender related dimensions;

- to enhance learning and expertise through the use of non formal education methods in guaranteeing equality for all genders in youth work for at least 10 youth workers in Europe;

- to enhance learning and expertise for at least 10 youth leaders from youth NGOs in Europe to develop gender sensitive approaches within their organizations.

Period: 6 - 12 May 2024

Target groups: 22 youth professionals (10 youth workers and 10 youth leaders from youth NGOs in Europe)

Profile:

NGOs: We are looking for youth NGOs interested in developing gender inclusive programs and services for youth as well as to work on their organizational capacity to include gender dimensions in their structure. We are looking for NGOs that do not have yet the capacity and the expertise to include gender dimension in their work (both from a programmatic viewpoint but also organizational) but are interested and willing to do so.

Youth workers: We are looking for youth workers that are actively involved in implementing programs and services for young people in their countries and are interested and willing to include gender dimensions in their specific work.

Youth leaders: We are looking for people that are decision makers in their organizations and are interested in incorporating gender dimensions in their organizational work (i.e strategy, human resource management, monitoring and evaluation etc).

Dissemination after the event:

For youth workers - to design and hold a session with the young people they work with that incorporates gender dimensions learnt in the TC.

For youth leaders - present the draft policy in the organization and have a meeting on finalizing the policy and how it can be incorporated in their practices.
