This is a training course that will change your view on Human Rights. Freedom vs Fear. Youth and human rights is focused on fighting discrimination by empowering youth workers to act as human rights promoters in their organizations and local communities.
What? Freedom versus fear will bringing together youth leaders, youth workers, practitioners in social field in a context of mutual sharing, experiencing and learning about the advantages of the diversity around us as a way of improving social relations and reduce stereotypes and prejudices. Why? This TC is focused on fighting discrimination by empowering youth workers to act as human rights promoters in their organizations and local communities. The TC seeks to challenge the western perspective on human rights and the manner we educate the youngsters to deal with the diversity of the multicultural society we live in. More specific objects of the project are: 1. To raise awareness among participants about the importance of the diversity and human rights in the work with young people. 2. To encourage participants to act as diversity and human rights multipliers in their communities. 3. To create a set of methods to work in the area of diversity and human rights with young people. 4. To promote the Erasmus + Programme as promoter of a wide range of opportunities that go to different directions. Where? Sibiu, Romania When? 24 July – 1 August 2015 Who is organizing it? Actiune in Voluntariat Partners: NECI, Cyprus ; Eurocircle, France; Hellenic Youth Participation, Greece; ScambiEuropei, Italy ; RED, Latvia. Who can participate? This TC is designed for youth leaders, youth workers and practitioners in the NGO operating in the youth or social field who are expected to: - Be interested in the diversity and human rights field - Be willing to challenge their perspectives and critically analyse the work they are doing - Be ready to share experiences and engage in a creative process with other participants - Be able to communicate in English Application procedure What to do? Costs

Travel costs for selected participants will be covered within the limits for each country as specified in the project and they will be reimbursed after the training course. France: 275 Euro / participant Greece: 275 Euro / participant Latvia: 275 Euro / participant Italy: 275 Euro / participant Cyprus: 275 Euro / participant Romania: 180 euro / participant Costs for board, accommodation and training are fully covered by the organizers. For this TC there is no participation fee required.

Participants are entitled to receive a Youthpass certificate from the organiser, for recognition of their competence development during the activity. Read more about Youthpass:
