Feeling lost in the sea of information? Learn to separate facts from fiction with us on the Escape Fake News training course!

The project ESCAPE FAKE NEWS is a two-staged international training course that introduces fact-checking techniques, revealing fake news and gamification in non- formal education. Through this training course, we want to share with enthusiastic youth our experience with developing educational games and education on media literacy. We want to use our experience and feedback from participants gained in the successful training course from 2022 and make this training course even better. We aim to share our expertise and inspire youth to be active and start their initiatives.

1st stage (TC)  - November 2-10 2024 in the Czech Republic

2nd stage (TC) -  March 13-20 2025 in Georgia

Objectives of the training

  • Introduce fact-checking techniques and educate about fake news, disinformation and manipulation practices.
  • Promote gamification and other modern learning and interactive techniques in non-formal education.
  • Enhance media literacy skills, enabling participants to distinguish between news and opinions, facts and disinformation
  • Promote cross-cultural collaboration and intercultural experience.
  • Address media literacy challenges in different countries and communities and improve the media literacy situation in Europe.

We are looking for participants who are:

  • Active Youth Workers/Youngsters with potential
  • Committed to attend both stages, participate actively during the whole duration of the project
  • 18+ years old
  • Able to speak English at a comunicative level
  • Interested in topics such as media literacy, critical thinking, disinformation or fake news
  • Ready to apply gained techniques in youth work, own organizations and communities
  • Individuals who are ready to learn, work hard, share explore new horizons, through this support others and be inspiring leaders
  • People from different social backgrounds, regions

We teach media literacy. Interactively. Using game-based activities. We are teaching students and public how to reveal fake news, think critically, and how to verify the information via gamified workshops. We have also workshops on cyber security and we developed card game focused on journalism and media. Our goal is to teach in a more entertaining way using games and non formal education methods.
