Erasmus + Partnership Building Activity - Women and the Labor Market in Jordan

Partnership-building Activity

21-25 October 2024 | Dead Sea, Jordan

Join a partnership-building activity open to youth workers who focus on the topic of "women and the labor market" in programme countries and the Southern Mediterranean region.

This PBA will provide a space to network, meet other organisations working on this topic, exchange good practices, get inspired, and create new projects. Experience in Erasmus+ projects is a plus, but if you represent an organisation  working on the topic of gender equality/equity and the place of women in different settings (politics, civil society, labor market, etc.) and are interested in exploring the work done by your colleagues in Europe or the Southern Mediterranean region, this event is for you! You’ll also discover different practicies in this field in Jordan. Special attention will be given to organisations interested in non-formal and informal learning opportunities for young people and youth workers (such as youth exchanges, mobility of youth workers etc.).

Topic

Globally, men tend to participate in labor markets more frequently than women. However, a quick look at the data reveals significant differences across societies. This data becomes even more critical when examining labor force participation rates by educational attainment. One of the most remarkable economic developments of the last century has been the rise in female labor force participation.

The 3-day PBA will guide participants through the main topics relating to women and the labor market. The example of topics that we might discuss are:

  • Women & labor market in general
  • Women's entrepreneurship
  • Women in the youth sector
  • Women in digital jobs
  • Women and future jobs
  • Women in peace-making
  • Erasmus + projects as a tool for cooperation

Aim of the activity

This partnership building activity aims to encourage organisations to engage more with one another, especially within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme. The main objective of this activity is to develop new projects in order to strengthen young women’s chances on the labor market.

Objectives

  • To gain a better understanding of the topic
  • To explore different realities in order to identify similarities and space for international cooperation
  • To exchange good practices, tools and resources on the place of women in the labor market
  • To gain a better understanding of Erasmus+ KA1 action
  • To facilitate networking, ideas exchange and building partnerships

Participant’s profile

We are seeking representatives from organisations in programme countries as well as those from the Southern Mediterranean region. This call is open to any organisation working on gender equality, ideally with a focus on empowering women, and interested in participating in Erasmus+ projects. If you are actively engaged in this topic and are interested in exploring the KA1 action of Erasmus+, this event is for you. Additionally, if you aim to expand your partnerships on an international scale, this activity is perfect for you!
