Training Course

This training course is a key instrument for building the knowledge, skills, and attitudes on climate change and supporting sustainable development both within the European Union and beyond.

The TC will increase the number of mobility opportunities in green forward-looking domains, which foster the development of competencies, enhance career prospects, and engage participants in areas, which are strategic for sustainable growth.

The objectives of the project are:

  • To Encourage active participation of young people in environmental decision-making processes and initiatives, fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility towards environmental stewardship.
  • To Empower young people to become environmental leaders by providing them with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to initiate and lead environmental projects in their communities.
  • To bolster collaboration between the European Union and Eastern Partnership nations, and to empower non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Eastern Europe, Caucasus, and Central Asia
  • To educate our youth workers on the importance of World Clean Up Day and Digital Clean Up Day, highlighting their significance in promoting environmental awareness and action.
  • To inform participants about UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), recognizing their significance and objectives. -To Encourage the active engagement of multiple environmental organizations in addressing environmental issues is vital for fostering a sustainable and eco-friendly future.
  • To Develop strategies to ensure the long-term sustainability of project outcomes, including capacity-building initiatives, institutional support, and community ownership of environmental initiatives.

Our TC "Environmental Protection in Action" aligns closely with Erasmus+ objectives and the European Green initiative. We aim to:

  • Promote learning mobility and active participation among youth workers.
  • Foster innovation in environmental practice and policy.- Design environmentally-friendly project approaches to inspire greener actions among participants and organizations.

Our training course, "Environmental Protection in Action," focuses on addressing priority issues and needs outlined by Erasmus+, including youth inclusion, climate action, ecology, sustainable development, and awareness-raising. Through interactive sessions and country presentations, participants will discuss environmental problems specific to their communities and share best practices for solutions.

The training course aims to equip youth workers and eco-activists with comprehensive knowledge and skills in environmental activism.

Participants will gain:

  • Significant environmental knowledge: Understanding of local and global environmental issues, their causes, impacts, and potential solutions.
  • Youth Work Skills: Training in effective youth engagement strategies, communication techniques, and leadership development to empower young people to take action on environmental challenges.
  • Innovative thinking and problem-solving: Encouragement of creative approaches and critical thinking to address environmental issues, fostering innovative solutions and resilience in the face of complex environmental problems.

The training program for the participants will be built around non-formal education methods, with a focus on providing hands-on workshops and activities. Experienced trainers will impart their expertise and impart practical tips and techniques for working with a diverse range of young people. The program is designed to meet the needs and expectations of the participants and to provide them with a wealth of knowledge and skills that they can put into practice in their work.

Our organization is a member of the international movement Let’s Do It World, which tackles environmental and social problems related toillegally dumped solid waste by mobilizing millions of positive- minded, action-orientated people and using innovative
technological solutions to deal with waste issues in over 191 countries around the world. In just eight years, Let’s Do It has motivated over 16 million people worldwide to join together and clean up their countries.

Diagonal is a network, or an umbrella organization for some 60 youth associations, mainly based in Paris and Ile de France region. Human Rights are the first activity: Respect, Tolerance, Sovereignty of peoples, Social Justice, Nature, Gender Equality, Rights of Children not only in Europe but in Africa and Latin America.
