EmpowerED: non-formal education methods

Participants will aquire group management skills and will be more inclusive with unmotivated young people and young people with difficulties. The integration of non-formal methods will stimulate active participation and involvement of young people in interactive and dynamic activities.

Objectives:

• Choose, adapt and implement at least 5 new methods of non-formal education.
• Boost confidence of the participants to use the right non-formal methods for their group.
• Gain experience in promoting the non-formal methods.
• Enlarge the portfolio of non-formal methods.

This project is mainly addressed to:

• Youth workers that are currently working with young people;
• Youth workers that are new in the youth field;
• Trainers who work with young people;
• Teachers involved in extracurricular activities;
• Volunteers in non-profit organizations.
• Age limit: over 18, no upper age limit

Participants in this training course will learn :

• Through knowledge, team building and communication activities, youth workers will understand the benefits of non-formal methods.
• The theoretical parts of non-formal methods.
• The learning cycle.
• To develop the communication skills and how to manage the youth groups.
