Benefits

While the inner critic is often seen as a negative force, it can actually offer some surprising benefits when approached with the right mindset:

  • Resilience: Overcoming the negative voice of the inner critic can build resilience and mental toughness. It can help you develop a stronger sense of self-belief and the ability to bounce back from setbacks.
  • Improved Emotional Well-being: reduced feelings of anxiety, depression, and stress. It allows you to approach challenges with a kinder and more understanding perspective, leading to greater emotional resilience.
  • Enhanced Self-Esteem: By treating yourself with kindness and understanding, you develop a healthier sense of self-worth. This boosts your self-esteem and helps you feel more confident in your abilities.
  • Greater Motivation: compassionate inner critic fuels motivation by replacing self-criticism with self-encouragement. It allows you to learn from mistakes without self-blame, fostering a growth mindset.
  • Stronger Relationships: When you’re kind to yourself, you’re more likely to extend that kindness to others. Self-compassion improves your ability to empathize, communicate effectively, and build stronger, more fulfilling relationships.
  • Better Physical Health: Studies have shown that self-compassion can positively impact physical health by reducing stress hormones and boosting the immune system.

The workshop is targeted at other pedagogues and youth workers who can share the workshop as an offline activity with their youth. However, it is also open to anyone interested in their personal development, growth, and, most importantly, discovering how to treat themselves more kindly.

Organiser:

INspire, z. s. (Youth NGO)

INspire is an NGO whose formation started in 2018 and whose definite completion came about in 2019. It was formed around people sharing different sets of skills but the same vision: to create a world which works for everyone.

We believe that we must go by example to the others, to inspire them to become a change they would like to see in the world. In order to do it, we are using the methods of non-formal education. Unlike formal education which already knows the right answers, non-formal education doesn’t know them; it only creates a context in which everybody can learn what they need to learn. INspire creates the context for learning with the focus on the diversity of perspectives – we inspire people to look at things from different points of view.

We believe that wisdom lies inside of humans. That’s why we encourage people to explore their inner selves and look for inspiration within their own hearts (therefore IN-spire). We believe this way they can become an inspiration for others.

We are organizing, promoting, facilitating and implementing local and international educational programs using non-formal education for personal, social and professional development of groups and individuals.
