Coaching Seminar
Romanian NA of the YiA programme is organizing this Seminar because coaching is an important aspect of the nonformal learning process inside youth projects and we want to create a platform to further discuss about the topic in a more structured way
AIMS OF THE TRAINING COURSE
The main aim of this seminar is to offer the possibility for people involved in coaching youth projects at European level to get together and discuss about the topic.
OBJECTIVES OF THE TRAINING COURSE
Particular objectives of the seminar course are:
1. to put together experts who are familiar with the topic of coaching in YiA program
2. to define and explore the concept of youth coaching at an European level
3. to exchange good practices and share of knowledge among the
METHODS
The course will be based on the principles and practice of non-formal education taking into account participant’s needs, motivations and previous experiences as starting point of the programme. A diversity of working methods will be used: presentations, discussions in small groups, brainstorming, world café, plenary debates, simulations, role-plays, etc.
FOR WHOM?
The target group for this seminar should consist of youth workers with experience in coaching, which are already familiar with Youth in Action projects in general and Youth Initiatives projects in particular, who have preferably already been involved in a Youth Initiative project as coaches and/or have already participated in a Coach to Coach TC. Besides the major target group for this seminar, project experts from National Agencies are also invited.
A good balance and combination of the two mentioned above target groups should be covered.
NUMBER AND PROFILE OF THE PARTICIPANTS
We expect up to 20 participants, representatives of non-governmental and governmental organizations around Europe (only EU countries). Participants should be actively involved in the work of their organisations and they should have developed youth initiatives projects in which they had also the status of a coach.
They should be motivated to exchange good practices and information regarding the topic of the seminar.
In particular, participants should:
be over 18 years old
be able to communicate in English
have at least 3 years experience in working young people
be highly motivated to actively participate in the whole seminar and to contribute to the development of the programme and the group dynamic of the participants.
DATES AND VENUE
The training course will be held in Romania. International participants are expected to arrive to Bucharest airport on Tuesday 31.05.2011 afternoon till 18:00 at latest!
Venue: the town of Predeal is 3 hours driving away from Bucharest (group transport from Bucharest will be organised). Accommodation of the participants will be arranged in double rooms with bathroom and full – board.

FINANCIAL CONDITIONS
Selected candidates will participate in the training course under following financial conditions:
Accommodation and board: costs for accommodation and board are fully covered by the Romanian National Agency of YIA programme;
Programme and training materials: costs for training materials and other programme activities are fully covered by the Romanian National Agency of Youth in Action programme;
Travel costs: travel costs will be covered by the respective sending National Agencies, please check with your sending NA if covering of travel costs could be possible for this seminar
