AI and Youth Work: the future is here

Seminar

24-30 June 2024 | Palermo, Italy

Implementing projects that utilise AI in youth work is crucial because AI provides new opportunities to enhance and innovate work with young individuals.

MOTIVATIONS AND NEEDS ADDRESSED:

  • Skills Development: Empower young workers with skills necessary to use AI effectively and responsibly in their daily practice through practical and hands-on training sessions.
  • Support in Youth Growth and Development: Leverage AI to support the growth and development of young individuals through tailored training programs and activities. Develop innovative methodologies for AI utilization in this context.
  • Enhancing Efficiency: Identify opportunities to use AI to automate repetitive and time-consuming tasks, allowing young workers to focus on more strategic and value-added activities.
  • Addressing Industry Challenges: Youth work faces challenges such as resource constraints and the need to adapt to a rapidly evolving world. AI can help address these challenges by automating repetitive tasks and personalizing assistance to the youth.
  • Promoting Responsible and Ethical AI Use: Educate young workers about the opportunities and potential risks of AI. Raise awareness and provide necessary skills for responsible and ethical AI usage.

SPECIFIC PROJECT OBJECTIVES:

  • Provide a solid understanding of AI opportunities and potential risks in youth work through presentations, discussions, and case studies.
  • Develop technical skills to use AI in youth work through practical training sessions on AI tools and technologies.
  • Promote collaboration and idea sharing among young workers through workshops and group work sessions to exchange experiences and ideas on AI's opportunities and challenges.
  • Develop new methodologies and practices for AI utilization in youth work through collaboration between experts and industry professionals.
