Residential Outdoor training September 2 – 8th 2023|Online Coaching Oct - Feb | Residential consolidation meeting March 15-18th 2024 in Viroinval, Belgium

Adventure Europe is a long-term training course for youth & youth care workers, who are interested in adventure and outdoor experiential learning approaches, to support the learning, wellbeing and positive mental health of the young people they work with.

The fourth edition of Adventure Europe is held in Belgium, Viroinval, with an international team of well-seasoned trainers.

Target Group

Adventure Europe wants to reach social and youth (care) workers

  • that feel the need to acquire new competences and tools to offer a meaningful response to the need of the young people with fewer opportunities they work with.
  • that are motivated to create opportunities for their target group to have positive relational, emotional and physical experiences, facilitated by Outdoor and Experiential Learning methods.
  • that want to improve their possibilities to co-create mobility opportunities in Europe in favour of the youngsters they work with
  • that are supported by the organisation they work for to learn and grow as a youth worker in an international learning community, to implement and experiment with new methods in their work with youngsters, and to take part in the creation of European mobility opportunities in favour of their target group.

Objectives

The Adventure Europe training cycle will provide participants opportunities to:

  • experience adventures in the outdoors and reflect on their personal learning,
  • learn the basic theories behind experiential learning and reflective practices,
  • develop skills in processing an experience with their target group,
  • have own experiential learning journey and reflect on how to transfer it into their professional context.
  • To use Adventure and Outdoor Experiential Learning approach for the learning and increased wellbeing of their youngsters.
  • Implementing their insights in their local practice supported by coaching.
  • Learning how to use Erasmus+ opportunities and mobility projects for their target group.
  • Create a network of potential future partnerships in Erasmus+ projects.

 

Program

Adventure Europe is a long-term training course, organized in three well designed phases.

  • Phase 1: A residential Outdoor and Experiential Training, held in the natural environment of the Viroinval, Belgium, from the 2nd to the 8th of September 2023. We stay in Ferme Chateau de Dourbes, where participants sleep in dorm room. An info pack [with all needed extra information on how to prepare and what to bring] is sent to all approved participants.
  • Phase 2: Coached practice in five online meetings from October to February
  • Phase 3: Consolidation Meeting from the 15th tot 18th of March 2024, also held in Viroinval, Belgium. We stay in Centre Européen Louis Delobbe, with two-persons bedrooms.

A maximum number of 25 participants will be selected for this course.

Participation fee

This project is financed by the participating National Agencies (NAs) of the Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme. The participation fee varies from country to country. Please contact your National Agency or SALTO Resource Centre (SALTO) to learn more about the participation fee for participants from your country.

Accommodation and food

Unless specified otherwise, the hosting NA or SALTO of this offer will organise the accommodation and covers the costs for accommodation and food.

Travel reimbursement

Please contact your NA or SALTO in order to know whether they would support your travel costs. If yes, after being selected, get in touch with your NA or SALTO again to learn more about the overall procedure to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses.
