Application deadline:

Description

MIJARC Europe is looking for 1 trainer for the international seminar ”Youth participating by a hectare”.  The seminar is the second activity of an annual work plan implemented by MIJARC Europe in 2020, with the financial support of the Council of Europe through the European Youth Foundation. The work plan also includes visits at local level and an international summer camp.

The international seminar aims to help the young participants and the youth organisations involved to identify appropriate measures and practices to increase youth participation in decision-making and policy development about sustainable agriculture at local level. It will focus on enabling young people to find instruments, models, recommendations and concrete measures within the Revised European Charter on the Participation of Young People in Local and Regional Life (the Charter) or outside of it in order to address the priorities identified during the local visits.

The objectives of the seminar will be:

  • O1: furthering the understanding of the Charter and its practical use in supporting youth engagement in agricultural policy
  • O2: offering basic theoretical and practical input on sustainable agriculture, its processes and activities and the way they influence rural development
  • O3: introduce European youth and agricultural policy frameworks and relate those frameworks to the variety of realities from local and regional levels
