Rescue Team

Broadening out the horizon of youngsters ...presented by Artur from Poland

  • My project ?

In my project, "Rescue Team", we organised a team within a group of 20 youngsters in our community. The project included training, which enabled the youngsters to get the life-guarding first certificate, open activities connected with the topic, and others like climbing.
You know, near our city there are many beautiful lakes, where people cannot swim because they are without protection. It was a real need to have a rescue team there!

  • The Outcome

The first thing that we achieved is that our project makes my city better, as it can offer to the public the use of public lakes, with the security that we are there to solve any problem that may arise! In addition there is a bunch of young people now who know what they want to do in the future and have oriented their life to a job, which in Poland is difficult to find. I, myself, can do what I want to do and I don't get bored alone. The group met through the project, and they get to know each other. We gained skills by means of seminars teaching us the rescue techniques and now we have a strong team with qualifications in our local community. The organisation to which I belong has attracted new youngsters through our project, and now they are thinking about other possibilities that can help them grow up with a future in mind.
